“If we aren't at the forefront of delivering that research here in the UK, someone else will” - reaction to the UK rejoining Horizon

Following the news that the UK would be rejoining Horizon, UK Trade and Business Commissioner, Layla Moran MP spoke to Chris Golds on LBC News earlier today.

Reacting to the news the UK would rejoin Horizon, Layla Moran MP said:

"Of course I welcome this, just to be clear, but frankly we shouldn't have been in this position in the first place"

There was further discussion of the scheme itself, which Layla Moran MP said:

"If we aren't at the forefront of delivering that research here in the UK, someone else will.”

Towards the end of the interview, there was discussion of the UK Trade and Business Commission’s recommendation to introduce a UK Board of Trade. Layla Moran MP added:

“Another recommendation we have is to set up a UK Board of Trade. This is one of 114 recommendations we've made”
