As Chair, Jones will focus on delivering the Commission’s ambitious work plan including expert roundtable discussions and evidence based reviews.

Ahead of the upcoming UK-EU Summit in Brussels on November 20, Jones will work with members, trade bodies, businesses, and academics to help guide future UK-EU relations and support British industry.

Looking ahead to her time as UKTBC Chair, Jones said:

“Every day in my work as an MP, I hear from businesses whose potential is being held back by unnecessary trade barriers and a lack of cooperation. These are businesses that could be growing, investing and creating jobs, but instead too often find opportunities out of reach.

“Across a range of policy areas, from trade and energy to opportunities for young people, championing a closer relationship with the EU, one that delivers clear, practical benefits for the UK is fundamental to my outlook and will guide my time as Chair”.
