Florida-UK 'Trade Deal' “little more than a handshake”

Kemi Badenoch signs Memorandum of Understanding on trade and economic cooperation with Florida Governor Ron DeSantis.

The Trade Secretary travelled to Florida to sign the agreement in order to boost trade and investment between the UK and the U.S. state.

Paul Blomfield MP, Co-convenor of the cross-party UK Trade and Business Commission said,

“In an attempt to distract from their failure to secure any meaningful trade deals since the referendum, the government is bigging up an agreement which is little more than a handshake deal.

“If this government was serious about growing the UK economy, they would instead be focused on aligning with our European neighbours to break down the damaging trade barriers that they put in place.”
